Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra: A Festive Program for Passover

I am happy to inform you that the JSO is returning their 'home', the Henry Crown Hall, and to performing in front of live audiences with a wide variety of concerts.


The JSO’s program for the remainder of March includes the best conductors and soloists. Among the planned concerts are an evening with works by Mozart and Mendelssohn, a new series with Dr. Astrith Baltsan, a festive Passover Concert with Maestro Eli Jaffe and renowned cantors, and a special Easter Concert under the baton of Nizar Alkhater, which will be broadcast, Live and free of charge, on the JSO’s Facebook page and YouTube Channel.

Ofer Amsalem, JSO’s CEO: “Last week we returned to the concert hall in what was the first concert in front of an audience in months. Our audience of Classical music lovers has been yearning to listen to concerts at the concert hall, and we felt their joy on our return. During the month of March we will be performing at the Henry Crown Hall, our home, and will also set out to Shfar'am, for a unique Easter concert – all in accordance with the Ministry of Health regulations. I hereby invite our audience to come to our variety of quality JSO concerts, while keeping the regulations for our common health.”

NEW AT THE JSO – ‘RHAPSODIES' – A series of concert meetings with Dr. Astrith Baltsan - The Henry Crown Hall, Jerusalem Theater


The first in a new concert series with Dr. Astrith Baltsan. This pioneering series, designed by Dr. Baltsan, includes explained concerts for adults, narrated by her at the piano, while conductor Ido Shpitalnik will be leading the orchestra.

The first concert of the series will focus on the most free form of all orchestral works – the Rhapsody. The JSO will be performing Rhapsodies by Liszt, Enescu and Rachmaninoff.

24.3.21  Wednesday 20:00 

“Vehi She’Amda” –  A Festive Programme for Passover - The Henry Crown Hall, Jerusalem Theater

 

A special program for Passover, conducted by Eli Jaffe and with cantors Simon Cohen, Zvi Weiss, Avremi Kirschenbaum and Yaki Lauer as well as singer Shimon Elbaz. The concert’s program includes a fetive overture for orchestra, Passover medleys, Adir Hu, Tefilat Tal (Rossenblatt) , Lefikhah Anu Hayavim (Yisrael Schor)


Approx. 60 minutes


4.4.21  – A Festive Easter Concert in front of the Christ Anglican Church in Shefar’am under the baton of Nizar Alkhater


The concert will be Live Premiere Broadcast, on the JSO’s Facebook page and YouTube Channel 


For Easter – A special program including orchestral arrangements for the holiday lamentations as well as arrangements for songs in Arabic, from traditional songs to songs by Fairouz and Joumana Mdawar. The program also includes Classical repertoire works referring to Easter, such as Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Gounod’s Ave Maria, excerpts from Bizet’s Carmen and Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni.
