The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra is opening the spring season with a number of festive concerts both online and at the Henry Crown Symphony Hall in Jerusalem. During the Easter holiday, Maestro Nizar Alkhater will conduct three 3 special concerts in three festive locations: the church in Shefar'am, at the plaza of the Terra Santa Church in Ramla and at the Notre Dame Monastery in Jerusalem. In addition, this month's program includes a concert to mark the Holocaust Remembrance Day and a special Independence Day concert conducted by maestro Steven Sloan, the orchestra's musical director, who recently returned to Israel after a break of several months due to the coronavirus.
THE APRIL CONCERTS
The Festive Easter Concert on three occasions:
Sunday - Easter Eve - 4.4.21 - 20:00 - At the Christ Anglican Church in Shefar’am
AND
Tuesday – 6.4.21 – 20:00 - At the Terra Santa Church in Ramla
AND
Sunday – 11.4.21 – 20:00 - At the Notre Dame Pilgrim Center in Jerusalem
The special Easter program led by Maestro Nizar Alkhater includes orchestral arrangements for the holiday lamentations as well as arrangements for songs in Arabic, from traditional songs to songs by Fairouz and Joumana Mdawar. The programme also includes Classical repertoire works referring to Easter, such as Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Gounod’s Ave Maria, excerpts from Bizet’s Carmen and Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni. A Holocaust Remembrance Day Concert

Maestro Steven Sloane is finally back with the JSO and will be leading the JSO in this special concert, with soprano Hilla Baggio, violinist Janna Gandelman and oboe player Lior Virot, performing works by Haydn, Brahms, Aharon Harlap and John Williams.

A Festive Independence Day Concert
Maestro Steven Sloane and the JSO host mandolin player Avi Avital in a festive Independence Day concert – with wonderful works by Mozart, Bach, Lavri and Avital.
