Last week was the Tel-Aviv Fashion Week. One of the exciting fashion shows was conducted by the Mifal Hapayis Fashion Factory Incubator that supports promising Israeli designers and has promoted the "Mifal Hapayis" fashion project for the fourth consecutive year.
As part of the project, Mifal Hapayis invited young fashion designers with up to 2-10 years of experience in the field to submit proposals for designing a new clothing collection of at least 10 outfits for presentation at the Tel-Aviv Fashion Week 2019.

A professional artistic committee appointed by Mifal Hapayis examined the proposals and selected seven young fashion designers who received a grant of up to 120,000 NIS for the design and production of a new clothing collection together with professional accompaniment of a leading fashion designer and business consulting for building a business plan and managing the budget.
Members of the artistic committee were Sasson Kedem, Naama Hassin, Claudette Zorea, Yael Schnberger, Motty Reif, David Adika and Michal Chitayat.
The 7 designers chosen were:
Kim Dror, owner of Kimka Studio, Shirley Lasri, owner of the Petit Pois brand, Michal Yersens Mengistu, Shadi Abed, Eran Zemach and Sarah Anshin, owners of the Kaete Dan brand; Shiran Reuven, owner of the mamo brand and Aner Shevach, owner of the aner 5777 brand.

Doline Melnik, Director of the Culture and Art Department at Mifal Hapayis and explained that the Mifal Hapayis Fashion Factory has highlighted a field that has so far been devoid of institutional support, unlike areas such as theater, dance or cinema. The financial and professional support for producing a collection is only the first and basic stage of the whole process. The main goal is to guide the designers and help them build an independent brand that will allow them to stay in the field and blossom.
Motty Reif, producer of the Tel Aviv Fashion Week and a member of the artistic committee of the Mifal Hapayis Fashion Federation described the activity of the Mifal Hapayis Fashion Factory as a home and the first of its kind in Israel. Designers who attended previous cycles have been successful in managing their businesses following their experience in the incubator. Therefore, due to the abundance of talented people in the field, the primary achievement is provision of the appropriate tools to the creative fashion talents in Israel.
Sasson Kedem, a member of the artistic committee of the Mifal Hapayis Fashion Factory spoke about how the incubator is a home for the designers who thrive under the mentoring of the more experienced designers. Once the incubator is complete, the designers need to prove themselves in the real world, but the mentors remain available to assist them.
