Museums of Bat-Yam: "City Factory" - A Repurposing Project

Hi there,


As part of "City Factory", a project created by the artist Itamar Shimshoni, unwanted objects and toys have been collected over the past few months from all over the city of Bat Yam, and through artistic actions will become repurposed into new sculptures and contemporary works of art.


The objects arrive at the factory, undergo a sorting and cataloging process and are used by the factory's skilled staff, which includes designers, students and retirees from Bat-Yam who work together on welding, painting, carpentry, sewing and more.

"City Factory" will operate for 10 days for 8 working hours a day. There will be guided tours for the whole family, ready-made workshops and activities for parents and children and schools in the city.


In addition, there will be screenings of films and special creative activities for the general public, the whole family, children and adults of all ages.


As part of city factory's activities, the new works of art will be displayed and offered for sale at prices that suit every pocket.

* Entrance to the "Factory City" is only possible by booking a tour in advance on the MoBY website


Factory tour and workshop for the whole family: 25 NIS (20 NIS for Bat Yam residents) - the tours will take place on the following days and hours:

  • Sunday-Thursday, every hour between 11:00-18:00*

  • Friday-Saturday, every hour between 10:00 and 13:00*

* Between 13:00-14:00 the factory goes out for a lunch break
