The huge band RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS in the unified lineup with John Frusciante has been selected to lead the international and local artists' that will be performing within the FUNKYARD Festival - a new and unique urban music festival to be launched this year in Tel-Aviv. at the Hayarkon Park - Ganei Yehoshua Tel Aviv.
KOFFEE, the Reggae-Afrobeat-Hip Hop, Grammy Award winner will be joining them among other international musicians. Israeli performers include the AWA band and Jimbo J.

FUNKYARD, which can certainly be defined as the main event of the Summer of 2020, is set to become a long-standing tradition. The festival is the product of a collaboration between Shay Mor-Yosef and Guy Besser from Live Nation Israel / Bluestone Group with Shuki Weiss and courtesy of Warner Music that is set up to be a major addition to the festivals and music events scene in Israel.
Starting in the early afternoon, the festival gates will open at Hayarkon Park, which will include various activity complexes, unique content experiences, exhibits, colorful food stands with several bars and drinking complexes to complement the flavors and aromas, chillout corners and more. International ensembles, local ensembles and DJs will perform on the various stages that will be spread throughout the festival grounds creating an atmosphere and entertainment experience similar to the world's largest music festivals.
The RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS are the first swallow in a long list of bands that will appear at the festival. The list of other artists will be published below.
For nearly four decades, the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS have been considered one of the world's largest rock bands, with sales of over 80 million albums, over 4 billion views on YouTube, countless awards worldwide and dozens of titles, winnings and leading of music parades all over the world.
The RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS appeared in Israel 8 years ago (2012) and filled the Hayarkon Park completely. The composition of the band included former guitarist John Klinghoffer. This time, the band's fans will be pleased at the return to stage of John Frusciante, the initial guitarist who left the band a decade ago for a solo career and has returned to appear in the 2020 World Round.

MORE INFORMATION ON THE BAND'S HISTORY
Launched in 1983 in Los Angeles, the band started out on the rock scene with performances in local pubs and clubs gaining fans among the audience. Six months after they began appearing, the record company EMI signed them to a recording contract and the first album "The Red Hot Chili Peppers" was released in 1984.
The album, "Mother's Milk" released in 1989 is considered to be their most important album. Its release marked a breakthrough of the mainstream, with songs like "Knock Me Down" and "Taste the Pain" and the cover version of Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground". Its tour covered the US and Europe and it was the first album to enter the billboard parade and reached 52nd place on the 'HOT 200' parade. It was also their first gold album and after its release they received a record deal with Warner Bros. The album's success developed the band's musical direction.
The album "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" (1991) catapulted the band into the mainstream of America's musical summit becoming an international sensation and sold over 15 million copies. It was ranked 310th in Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Best All-Time Parades and came third in the annual U.S. Album Parade.
The Grammy-winning song "Give It Away" reached first place in the Magazine's 'Modern Rock Song' billboard parade. The song "Under The Bridge" came second on the Magazine's "Hot 100" billboard parade and currently stands at over half a billion streamings on Spotify.
Other hits that came out of this album were "Breaking the Girl" and "Suck My Kiss". During this period, they were already beginning to perform at huge festivals such as the Lollapalooza and Woodstock festivals and increasingly attracting the attention of music critics who compared them to names like Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
In 1995, the album "One Hot Minute" was released, selling in 5 million copies worldwide and out of which the songs "My Friends", "Warped" and "Aeroplane" came out.
The "Californication" album was released in 1999 and became their most successful album ever. It has sold over 16 million copies worldwide. It entered the Rolling Stone magazine's '500 Best Albums of All Time' list in 2003 and was nominated for the Grammy 2000 Best Rock Album Award.
The "Californication" song became an eternal rock hit and one of the band's favorite songs. It entered the 'Hot 100' billboard parade, and captured first place in many billboard parades (mainstream rock parade, modern rock parade, alternative parade). It came in 16th in the UK singles parade and first place in Island and Canada. It was recently ranked first in the first decade of the 21st century parade in Israel's Galgalatz. It also achieved platinum status in Italy and the UK and gold in the US. The Clip of the song is the most viewed by the band, with 664 million YouTube views and won the billboard awards in the '2000 Best Modern Rock Clip' category.
The song "Scar Tissue", which came out of the album, won the Grammy in the 'Best Rock Song' category. The song "Otherside" stayed in the first place of the 'Modern Rock' Billboard parade for 13 weeks. It came in first place in Canada, Iceland and 5th place in New Zealand.
The songs "Road Trippin", " Parallel Universe" and "Around The World", from this album, reached Top 40 and entered the billboard parades, even though they were not released as singles.
The "By The Way" album was released in 2002. In the first week of its release, 700,000 copies were sold and about 13 million copies in total. For the first time in band history, its songs reached the top of the parade in 16 countries around the world. The album was accompanied by a tour that lasted a year and a half and included three shows at Hyde Park London - a series that broke a record of over $ 17 million on ticket sales with over a quarter of a million fans attending the three shows.
"By The Way" the album's theme song, marched for 14 weeks in first place on the 'Modern Rock' billboard parade and 7 weeks at the top of the 'Mainstream Rock' parade. It came in 2nd place in the UK and ranked 1st in the 100 hottest singles in Europe. Other hits that came out of this album include: "The Zephyr Song ", "Can't Stop", "Dosed" and "Universally Speaking".
The double album "Stadium Arcadium" released in 2006 came in first place on the album charts in the US and around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Switzerland, France, Holland, Germany and many other countries. In the 'Rock Album' billboard parade and the 'Digital Album' parade, it also won 5 Grammy Awards, out of 7 nominations and was nominated for several additional awards.
The song "Dani California" came out of this album. It has won two Grammy Awards (in the 'Best Rock Song' category and in the 'Best Vocal Rock Show' by a duo / band. It was ranked 6th in the 'Hot 100' billboard parade, and was the second song in history to reach first place in the 'Modern Rock' billboard parade when it marched there for 14 consecutive weeks. It also marched for 12 weeks in succession at the top of the 'Mainstream Rock' parades and came second in the UK 'Singles' parade. The song has also achieved gold status in Italy, Switzerland and Australia, platinum in the UK and double platinum in the US.
The song "Dark Necessities" released from the 2016 album "The Getaway" became a huge hit and broke several billboard records. For the 13th time in the band's career, they put in a song in 1st place in several billboard parades. It was their 25th single to enter the Top 10 in the 'Alternative Parade', and was the fourth song ever to rank first in both the 'Alternative Parade' and 'Mainstream Rock Parade'. Overall, the song came 1st in five out of seven billboard parades in which it appeared.

KOFFEE or by her original name - Mikayla Simpson, is a singer - rapper - creator and guitarist, born in Kingston - Jamaica.
She began her musical journey by singing in the church choir, where she studied composition and harmony, musical theory and sound development. At the age of 12, she taught herself how to play a guitar lent to her by a friend.
She began writing songs when one of the inspirations that surrounded her was the reggae singer Protoje.
Despite her young age, she is very aware of the social - political issues and the harsh realities in her homeland and these seep into her music making her a groundbreaking artist who wants to inspire youth.
In 2016, she won a young talent competition at the school she attended and in 2017, she wrote the song LEGEND dedicated to Olympic athlete Usain Bolt as a tribute to Jamaican legends. Koffee uploaded the song to her Instagram and it gained viral momentum, becoming an Instagram hit and was shared by Usain Bolt himself.
The song TOAST released in November 2018 marked her international breakthrough with over 98 million views on YouTube and close to 50 million streams in Spotify to date.
She performed at 'Rebel Salute' one of Jamaica's biggest reggae festivals and shared a stage with her musical inspirations, including Protoje and Chronixx, considered one of Jamaica's biggest reggae stars today, who invited her to join him on his UK tour, including at the Bosh Concert Hall and at Alexandra Palace.
In 2018, she was signed to the record label Columbia.
In 2019, she was hosted on BBC Radio, which included her on that year's Hot Artists list.
The song BURNING marched for three weeks in first place on the reggae parade in New York and South Florida.
KOFFEE gained international attention when entering Apple Music's Next Artists list for 2019.
Now, at the age of 19, she is the first and youngest reggae artist to ever win the Grammy (Jan 2020). At the recent Grammy Ceremony, she broke a record when she won the Best Reggae Album award on her EP RAPTURE released last March. She is the youngest artist and only woman to ever win that award.
The EP came first in the reggae parade on the American Billboard and stayed there for 32 weeks. In the EP, KOFFEE collaborates with renowned artists and producers such as, Walshy Fire, Jane McGizmo Frankie Music, Izy Beats and more.
She was selected to be part of the artists who performed this year (2020) on the Super Bowl Games stage and also performed at the Coachella Festival.
KOFFEE was selected this year by Harry Styles to open his tour of America and no less cool, she appeared in Barack Obama's 2019 playlist released in early 2020.
