Two years ago, the documentary "The Dancer," a film dealing with the life story of Sergei Polunin, his ascension, his success, his retirement and his return to the stage was successfully presented in Israel. At the time, Polunin came to Israel and admired the charm of Tel Aviv. In parallel, a large audience in Israel discovered the story and ability of the wonderful dancer. Now, the Israeli public will be given the opportunity to see Sergei Polunin in a live performance, and to discover his great charm on the stage.

Polunin, along with eight other dancers, has created a special evening. The first part is a special piece that includes the group of dancers, and in the second part a work created specifically for him, SACRE, based on Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring." Japanese choreographer Yuka Oishi created her own version of the work, Oishi creates in the spirit of Vaslav Nijinsky, who created the original choreography in 1913. Her work conveys the constant struggle between emotion and thought. In her work Oishi allows Polunin to expose many layers of his personality as a dancer, creator, artist and especially as a human being.

Many compare Polunin to the three greatest dancers in history, Nijinsky, Nureyev and Baryshnikov. Polunin became the youngest dancer in the Royal Ballet in London, a position he reached at the age of 19. His charisma and high technical ability entertained the audience and the visitors. He has appeared in the leading roles in the major ballet shows such as La Bayadère and Manon. He has appeared in the role of the prince in ballets such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, Giselle and Onegin. After several intensive years in London, he decided to retire, but quickly returned to the stage and performed at the Stanislavsky ballet in Moscow, as a principal dancer in the Bolshoi Theater and the Mariinsky Ballet. He also appeared as a principal dancer at the Munich Opera Ballet.

Alongside his dancing in the prominent ballet companies, he has developed a career in modern dance with special performances created for himself and by himself. Moreover, alongside the successful dance career, he has developed a career as an actor and has participated in many films. A film by Ralph Fiennes, the British director-actor, will soon be released on the life of Rudolph Nureyev. Polunin appears in the role of Yuri Soloviev, a legendary dancer himself who was Nureyev's roommate while the latter defected to the West during a tour of Paris. He appeared alongside Jennifer Lawrence in "Red Sparrow" and other films. He made his film debut in Kenneth Branagh's "Murder on the Orient Express" alongside Judy Dench, Penélope Cruz and Johnny Depp.

In the year 2017, the documentary film about his life was released and was also a great success in Israel.

At the same time, Polunin posed for the famous clip, created by the artist David LaChapelle to sing Hozier's "Take Me to Church". The video has accumulated over 27 million views on YouTube, exposing Polunin's dancing abilities to millions of viewers in America and to being hosted in the most prominent shows.

Polunin has won many prestigious awards during his career. Artistic collaborations are at the heart of Polunin's work. He works with leading photographers including David LaChapelle, Mario Sorrenti, Bruce Weber, Bryan Adams and many more.

He founded the Sergei Polunin Foundation, a fund aimed at promoting young people from families in distress and enabling them to receive dance education and help them develop their creativity. The Foundation's goal is to make ballet and dance accessible to a wider audience.
