Zimbalista and Gronich have a long and shared history. Gronich composed, among other things, a piece called "Sof Idan Hatmimut" (translates to "End of the Age of Innocence"), for the Marimba and a string quartet, and worked on a musical arrangement of a piece called 'Go' for the Marimba, the audience and an orchestra that will be performed in this concert!

The connection between Gronich and the Jerusalem symphony allows Gronich to generate a one-time unique performance of a chapter from Mozart's Concerto No. 21, presented based on his musical understanding and Britten's "Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra".

Conductor and percussionist Chen Zimbalista serves as the conductor and musical director in a number of musical series in collaboration with the Jerusalem Symphony, the Rishon Le Zion Symphony and the Be'er Sheva Sinfonietta. Between 2015-2019 he was invited to conduct and play with the Kyiv Soloist National Chamber Ensemble and the Tibilisi Chamber Orchestra (Georgia), conduct the Berlin Symphony in workshops led by conductor Lior Schmiedl. During 2016, he headed the Percussion and Orchestra Department of the University of Delaware, USA with the support of the America Israel Cultural Foundation (AICF) scholarship.

As part of the "Zimbalista Music Factory" association founded in 2016, Zimbalista has artistically run five festivals that include master classes and concerts performed by outstanding music students, with the support of the Recanati Family Foundation. As a percussionist and Marimba player, Zimbalista has a rich and varied repertoire both with string quartets as well as a new solo show, following the launch of his 2013 IMA Award-winning LEVITATION disc.

Among his teachers are Mr. Alon Bor of the Israel Philharmonic, Prof. Morris Lang of the New York Philharmonic, Prof. Bent Lillof of the Royal Academy of Copenhagen and and a Master's Degree conducted by Dr. Evgeny Zirlin at the Jerusalem Academy and Maestro Lior Schmiedl.
