I am happy to share with you another roundup of new foods on the market in Israel.

The new foods described in this article include:

Organic Smoothies of Bioitalia by Rotzim et HaTeva The "Rotzim et HaTeva" company has started marketing six flavors of organic fruit and vegetable smoothies, made by the Italian company "Bioitalia", that specializes in organic foods. The smoothies are made from organic fruits and vegetables, that are grown without pesticides and genetic engineering, and contain no sugar additives, artificial substances and preservatives.

The series includes 6 great flavors based on combinations of real fruits and vegetables: apples (70%) and blueberries (30%); Carrots (60%), apricot (25%) and pumpkin (15%); Apples (70%), kiwi (20%) and spinach (10%); Apples (70%), strawberry (20%) and banana (10%); Apples (60%), pears (30%) and broccoli (10%); Plum (100% plum).

The products contain only 100% fruit and vegetables. The special combinations also allow those who do not like vegetables to benefit from their nutritional value, as they are combined with the fruit flavors.

The smoothies come in personalized packaging makes it possible to consume fruits and vegetables everywhere and conveniently. You can enjoy a variety of flavors for school or kindergarten, hiking and the theme park. The package contains a safety stopper that is screwed shut and allows for reclosing.

Store in a cool place. After opening, store in the refrigerator. Consume up to two days after opening.

PRICE: 5.90 - 6.90 NIS for a pack weighing 120 grams (except for apple, pear and broccoli that weighs 100 grams).

Pumpkin Seed Flour by Greeny The health food brand Greeny has launched a new product: pumpkin seed flour. The flour is made by the Austrian Alpha GH Company from 100% quality pumpkin seeds with no additives of preservatives, food coloring, flavoring or scents.

The flour is rich in protein and fiber, and is made by state-of-the-art technology that retains its unique flavor. It is common to substitute 15% - 20% of the total flour in recipes with pumpkin seed flour to enrich the taste and texture of various baked goods and foods. The flour is suitable for pastries, cakes, fritters, pancakes and even to make gluten-free home-made falafel (recipe below).

PRICE: 11 NIS for packaging weighing 250 grams.

Greeny's Recipe for Homemade Gluten-Free Falafel

Ingredients: • 1 kilo of chickpeas soaked overnight in the fridge • 1 medium onion • 1 large, peeled potato • 3 tablespoons of Greeny's Pumpkin Seed Flour • A bunch of Parsley • A bunch of Coriander • Peeled garlic teeth from one Garlic head • 1 tablespoon of salt • 2 flat tablespoons of cumin • 1 tablespoon of Greeny's pumpkin oil • 1 teaspoon of black pepper • 1 teaspoon of baking soda or 3 tablespoons of soda water • Greeny's Purified Walnut Oil for frying

Preparation:

Strain the chickpea seeds and rinse. Grind all ingredients in a food processor to the desired texture. Put the batter in the fridge for about two hours.

• Make balls. • Preheat oil (Greenie's glazed walnut oil is recommended) to a medium heat (not boiling). Put one ball into the oil and fry it. It is important to check and see that it is fully cooked (not burnt on the outside and still raw on the inside). Thus, it is possible to schedule the frying time of the other balls. • Fry the balls one layer at a time.

Gluten Free - Aluminum Free Baking Powder by "Aviv Yarok" The health food brand "Aviv Yarok" has launched a gluten-free and aluminum-free baking powder in a 600g economy packaging.

The packaging is suitable for baking enthusiasts, and is especially useful during periods such as the holidays in which we bake and host a lot. The standard baking powder packaging contains only 10 grams.

The baking powder, which is used to raise dough, contains baking soda, starch and acid salts. Some consider baking powder the major breakthrough in modern baking.

The new baking powder joins the baking soda of "Aviv Yarok". The product is manufactured under proper GMP production conditions.

PRICE: 19.90 NIS for a packaging weighing 600 grams.

KOSHER CERTIFICATE: Under the supervision of the Kfar Pines Menashe Regional Rabbinate and Rabbi Landa during the year. Available in all top chains and nature stores around the country.

New Spices by 'Neptune' 'Neptune', a family company from 1980, specializes in the development, production and marketing of spices, seasonings, spreads and sauces. In honor of the New Year it is offering quality seasonings and spices, that will help prepare festive dishes for the holiday. The company offers a wide range of spices and seasonings, with no additives, preservatives or monosodium glutamate.

Additionally, on the occasion of the New Year, 'Neptune' is launching a new branding, a Royal Blue logo and packaging. The blue color echoes the company's name - Neptune - referencing the mythological sea god, reflecting the desire to bring quality spices from four corners of the globe.

The Tuscany blend - a special spice blend that can be used for making various types of dishes including chicken, meat, fish, pasta, potatoes, rice, quinoa and more. The mixture includes, among others, oil, crystalline garlic, sweet paprika, rosemary and sea salt.

Smoked Moroccan Paprika - The smoky flavored paprika is great for seasoning and preparing a variety of dishes including meats, soups, shakshuka, baked potatoes, marinades and stews, for which you wish to add a smoky aroma.

Chicken Grill Mix - a spice mix for making chicken, spring chicken, fish, potatoes, rice and more. Suitable for grilled dishes, frying or cooking. The mixture includes sweet paprika, basil, turmeric, black pepper and more.

PRICE: 9.90 - 12.90 NIS for a packaging weighing 150 grams.

KOSHER CERTIFICATE: The products are Kosher Mehadrin under the supervision of the Chief Rabbinate of Beersheba and the ultra-Orthodox community. Available in the supermarket chains and select stores.

Since the Tuscany blend is probably the least known, I'm including a recipe provided by the company.

Neptune's Recipe for Chicken in Tuscany Seasoning

Ingredients:

8 chicken legs

For the topping:

  • 14 tablespoons of bread crumbs

  • 2 tablespoons flour

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 6-7 teaspoons Neptune's Tuscany blend

Preparation:

• Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius. Cover a baking dish with baking paper and sprinkle with a little oil (or lightly grease with a brush). • Mix the topping materials in a bowl. Wet the chicken legs slightly with water, shake of the excess drops (do not wipe) and coat with the topping. • Place in the baking dish. Sprinkle some oil over the chicken legs. Roast for about 45 minutes. No need to turn over.
