New Foods and Recipes for Passover 2020

I am happy to share with you another roundup of new foods that have been especially issued for Passover.


The new foods described in this article includes:

  • Vegan 'Ener Good' Energy Squares by 'Teva Yarok'

  • New spice blends by 'Neptune'

The 'Teva Yarok' Company that specializes in manufacturing and marketing of health products is introducing 'Ener Good' - energy squares based on dried fruits, coconut and cocoa, in two great flavors. The snacks are marketed in a family pack weighing 300 grams, containing 12 squares.

The 'Ener Good' squares contain only high-quality and natural plant components including: dates, dried Amarena cherries, dried cranberries, raw organic cocoa, cocoa powder, coconut flakes and carob powder - without any additions of sugar, preservatives, artificial colors, animal ingredients or flour. However, they may contain gluten from other sources.

The 'Ener Good' energy squares come in two flavors:


  • Chocolate, date, carob, coconut and cocoa squares. Containing: dates (50%), coconut flakes (35%), organic carob powder (10%) and organic cocoa (5%).

  • Chocolate, cherry, cranberry and coconut squares. Containing: dried Amarena cherry (25%), Cranberries without sugar, prganic dates, coconut chips and cocoa powder.

Ya'ara Cohen Ichilov's naturopath has stated that Ener Good's squares are a source of available energy from good and natural sources as they combine dietary fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and more without preservatives, artificial colors or added sugar.

The energy squares are suitable for use as an intermediate meal, before a workout, as a coffee break or as a treat in the evening. The family packaging allows each member of the household to enjoy an energy-packed, tasty and healthy snack - at home, at work or at leisure. It is recommended to store in a cool, dry place. The new product can be purchased at the marketing chains and select nature stores.

New Spice Blends by 'Neptune'

The 'Neptune' company (1980) that specializes in the development, production and marketing of spices, seasonings, spreads and sauces, is offering a selection of fine kosher Passover spice mixes, to make festive dishes and has provided recipes to go along with them.

The spices and seasoning blends have no additives, preservatives or monosodium glutomate.

Philadelphia Seasoning Blend - For lovers of a sweet-tangy-spicy flavor. The blend comes from New Orleans, USA and contains various herbs (oregano, basil, thyme), paprika, mustard grains, cumin and / or cilantro seeds, black pepper and more. The spice is very suitable for seasoning of all types of meats and poultry, fish, potatoes, rice , sauted or oven-baked vegetables, casseroles and salads like cabbage salad and fresh beets.

Lemon Pepper Blend - For lovers of a spicy taste. The lemon pepper seasoning is typical of South Africa, and is suitable for a variety of dishes from meats, poultry and fish to side dishes and salads.

Crisp Potatoes in a "Philadelphia Seasoning Blend"


Ingredients:

  • 12 medium, rinsed unpeeled potatoes

  • 3 tablespoons Philadelphia Neptune spice

  • 1.5 teaspoons of sweet Neptune paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon of Neptune's ground black pepper

  • 2/3 cup of olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise

  • For additional spice add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of Neptune's spicy paprika

Preparation:

  • Cook the potatoes in boiling and salted water until they are almost done (about 10 minutes after the water starts boiling). The potatoes should be soft but not too soft. Strain and cool slightly.

  • Cut the potatoes into quarters or wedges and place in an oven tray.

  • Mix all the spices, oil and mayonnaise and add to the potatoes. Mix gently.

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees celsius.

  • Put the tray in the oven, lower the heat to 220 degrees and roast the potatoes for about 25 minutes, until crispy.

Tilapia fish in "Lemon Pepper Blend"

Ingredients:

  • 8 Tilapia fillets

  • 7 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 1.5 teaspoons salt

  • 3 to 4 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 teaspoons of Neptune's Pepper-Lemon Blend

  • 1/2 teaspoon of Neptune's crystalline garlic

  • 1 teaspoon of Neptune's dried parsley

  • 1 teaspoon of Neptune's dried coriander


Preparation:

  • Soak the fish fillets in lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix olive oil, spices and a spoonful of salt.

  • Generously brush each fillet with the mixture and place over a baking sheet greased with oil, skin down. Place an additional baking paper on top so that the fillets are loosely covered.

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius. Roast the fillets for about 13 minutes. Remove the baking paper and roast for an additional 1-2 minutes or more if necessary.
