New Foods: Picnic Perfect

I don't think any of the manufacturers of the following foods thought of using them necessarily for picnics, but now that school is over, I think it is a good way to put them to use. The new foods in my review include the following:

Turkey Pastrami with Shawarma Seasoning by 'Yehiam'
'Yehiam's Delicatessen', the manufacturer of sausage products, pastramis and sausages from Kibbutz Yehiam, is launching a new pastrami in the series of sliced sausage products: pastrami with shawarma seasoning. The new flavored pastrami is made from a premium turkey breast seasoned with a shawarma flavored spice blend. The product is high in protein (18%) and low in fat (3%). The new 'Turkey Pastrami with Shawarma Seasoning' will be marketed in a 300g packaging similar to other products in its category, in all the supermarket chains and top stores throughout the country.
Yehiam's sliced sausage series features quality sausages made from rich-tasting turkey and beef meats. Among the series's products are: classic pastrami, barbecue pastrami, smoked beef shoulder, Italian salami, pastrami with honey and more. In addition, Yehiam produces boutique sausages that includes: prosciutto, corned beef, Hertz salami, French salami, siereveld and more. Recently, Yehiam has launched a series of new premium sausages - chorizo and French-style sausages, which are successful (you can see my review here). All the company's products are manufactured in a factory in Kibbutz Yehiam that employs about 150 people in the verdant Western Galilee.

Vegan Yellow Cheese by 'Mashu Mashu'
The 'Mashu Mashu' vegan cheese brand is launching a new vegan yellow cheese: classic-style slices with reduced fat and sodium in an improved recipe of a previous product. The new cheese is made from herbal ingredients alone, is 100% vegan, contains calcium and nutritional fiber, is lactose free, cholesterol free, soy free, trans fat free and preservative free. The cheese is perfect for sandwiches, toasts, pizzas and baked goods, without the worry of allergies. The new yellow is joins the yellow cheese series that includes: yellow 18%, mozzarella-style, salty reduced fat 5% and more. According to dietitian Yael Dror, clinical dietician and physiologist M.Sc., vegan cheeses provide a very important health and nutritional response for those who cannot consume dairy products and have difficulty supplying their daily calcium requirements.
About a year ago, "Mashu Mashu", owned by Kibbutz Gan-Shmuel and Hadar Food, launched a series of cream cheese-style, coconut-based, vegan spreads, including natural-flavored, olive and garlic-based spreads with only 9% fat and a classic style spread with 25% fat. All products contain high levels of calcium, with no preservatives and no allergens. The company produces vegan cheeses and meat substitutes for the institutional and retail markets. All products are soy free, gluten free and lactose free. The company's products include grated vegan cheese for pizza and baking (see here), white savory cheese with herbs, vegan parmesan and more. The products are available in supermarkets throughout the country.

Vegan 'Cookie + Protein' by 'Bake City'
Bake City's vegan and delicious protein cookies have finally arrived in Israel from the U.S. Each cookie contains 20 grams of high quality protein (broad beans and peas) as well as 5 grams of dietary fiber, and have no animal or genetically engineered ingredients, colors or artificial flavors and scents. Don't get confused, they're vegan, but they do contain gluten (it was the first thing I checked).
The cookies are available in six great flavors:
Espresso and dark chocolate
Macadamia nuts, white chocolate and coconut
Double chocolate oatmeal
Oats and raisins
Each large cookie weighs 113 grams and is wrapped separately in an easy-to-carry packaging that maintains freshness and hygiene. The cookies are suitable for vegetarians and vegans, who require sources of protein in their daily diet and/or are engaged in exercise. The cookies can serve as a light meal, an upgraded and satisfying energy snack during the day or as a protein boost, before or after sports activity. In short, they're perfect for picnics!
Seasoned Atlantic Sea Salt by 'Neptune'
Neptune Company (1980), that specializes in the development, production and marketing of spices, seasonings, spreads and sauces, has issued a new "Seasoned Atlantic Sea Salt" in a stylish transparent grinder - for the seasoning of a variety of foods and salads and offers a recipe for roasted, crispy and delicious potatoes.
The transparent quality grinder enables you to see the salt crystals, dotted with red and green of the various spices that include: red pepper, green pepper and herbs. The grinder is easy to use and beautiful to place on the table, for the use of the diners. The salt is free of monosodium glutamate, food coloring or preservatives. 'Neptune' has offered a recipe that is perfect for picnics.
Crushed and Roasted Potatoes, with Seasoned Atlantic Sea Salt
8 medium or 20 small, rinsed and unpeeled potatoes of a variety suitable for oven roasting
Neptune's Seasoned Atlantic Sea Salt
Boil water with a little salt in a suitable pot and cook the potatoes in their rind, in a half-covered pot, only until a knife is easily stuck into them (do not cook until they fall apart). Drain when done.
Preheat (about 10 minutes) the oven to 200 oC.
Place a baking sheet on an oven tray. Generously sprinkle with olive oil and Seasoned Atlantic Sea Salt. Place the still warm potatoes on top.
Cut a notch in each potato and then gently crush it with a greased bottom of a cup or potato masher until it bursts. Sprinkle with more olive oil and seasoned salt on top.
Roast in the oven for about 20 minutes at 200 oC and then increase heat to 220 oC for another 10 minutes until the potatoes turn golden-brown
Serve. Place the grinder on the table in case necessary.
Chocolate Crunch Yeast Cake by 'Achva'
Achva, Israel's leading manufacturer of halva, tahini and bakery products, is launching a delicious new cake in its series of baked goods: a chocolate crunch yeast cake.
