The big running event in the south, LIGHT RUN IKEA BE'ER SHEVA, is returning this year, larger than ever and includes an official 21.1 km half marathon race course. There will also be experiential activities for the whole family at the launch point of the track in Be'er Sheva river park by the lake.

The Night Race - Light Run IKEA Beer Sheva is back in a bigger, happier and much more glamorous version. The race will take place on Sunday, May 10, 2020 and will be launched from the Amphi Park Beer Sheva area. Runners will be able to choose from four race courses: a 21.1-km half-marathon route, a 10-km (from age 14 and up), 5-km (from age 12 and up) and a 2.5-km for the public (from age 10 and up). Throughout the lanes there will be special lighting elements that illuminate the city streets. About 8 music stages will be placed along the tracks keeping the runners in a good mood and rhythm. Alongside the race courses, there will also be a sporting event open to the general public which will include sports activities, a glowing party and family activities.
The Night Race, was initiated by the Beer Sheva Municipality and Kivunim - The Municipal Organization for Recreation and Culture in Beer Sheva and is produced by Kapaim (KPM) Active. The event is part of the sport and active lifestyle development in the city of Beer Sheva and has already become a fun tradition among the city's residents and guests and for the first time includes an official half marathon in addition to the popular race courses. The race will take place as part of the Israel Sports Week events.
The rally point and racing area have been designated at the Be'er Sheva River Park. The spectacular park spans 5,300 acres and includes a beautiful artificial lake, an amphitheater hosting performances by the best Israeli and international artists as well as the Beit Eshel complex (a historical site) and a pipe bridge connecting the city to the park. The race courses of the 2.5 km and 5 km will all be within the Beer Sheva river park.
On the day of the race, the entire city will be decorated and a spectacular EXPO complex will be set up to include leading exhibitors of active lifestyle providers, a stage and activity areas for the whole family. Additional complexes for families will be scattered around the city: the bell garden, Anilevich Street and the locomotive complex. Before the race, participants will enjoy a colorful complex of glow makeup and glowing elements that will highlight the runners along the track. At the end of the race, a party with the best D.J.'s will be held on the town square for all comers.
